“I’m at your house like why you got your couch on my chucks”
A solid year for music. We were treated with music from just about any and every artist who wanted to make their mark on the industry. Some artists made inspirational music to uplift our social climate, others simply needed fresh music to go on tours. Naturally this means I had a chance to listen to even more music this year. Each Friday of 2016 I was blessed with new music, some good, some bad, most in the middle. If there was a theme or label I could put on the 2016 year, it would be “not your best foot forward”. This is not to take away from the effort and passion many artists put into releasing very entertaining projects throughout the year.
Artist of the Year:
If I had to give one end of year award, it would go to Anderson .Paak for owning 2016. His voice was everywhere from features to commercials to opening show credits, all the way to his very own album. Despite the generous usage of his voice, it never wore out its welcome but rather seemingly complemented music with a soulful accent.
Albums of the year:
Luckily for you I’ve taken the time to filter out the albums that deserve your attention. There are 9 that I think deserve a listen by everybody. The others still offer great entertainment, and are worth checking out. All 27 albums have been compiled into this one Spotfiy Playlist.
